Ooh, La, La!

Last night, I went to see the play of Ross O'Carroll Kelly. It wasn't exactly as I expected since it didn't incorporate all the characters from the books into it, thus, it had a tendency to carry on a bit much with the one joke throughout the play. Still, some parts were funny. The best part, or I should say, the most surprising part, was when the actor who played Ross, jumped up onto the bar with his pants down to his ankles, wearing some fairly tight blue boxer-shorts. And the second surprise came when the audience got a full back side nude view of the guy. All parts were very nicely toned, that's for sure...! Wouldn't have minded seeing that part on rewind a couple times! Okay, I know that's a bit shallow, but it was just eye candy... ;-)

Change, Change, Change

On Saturday night, I went to see Menopause, and it was brilliant! I spent the entire hour-and-a-half laughing and smiling! I hadn't been to a musical before, but the made-up lyrics to all the familiar 60's and 70's songs was clever and so funny. It was also great to go with a friend of mine, Sonja, who was laughing just as much as me!

One thing I did take from the play was to celebrate who I've become, enjoy life, and not to fret about what used to be the case in the past.

So, on Sunday, I found myself a warm, fuzzy blanket and bought it so I can cuddle up with it on cold, rainy, windy days. I did just that tonight, and it was delightful and cozy and snuggly :-)

Tipidy-Toe

I saw the St. Petersburg Russian ballet performance of The Nutcracker tonight. It was interesting to see all the different costumes (except when all guys and girls were dressed entirely in pink...the girls looked like balls of cotton candy and the guys, well, pink just doesn't highlight a guy's masculinity...). I found some of the tricky little leg work quite impressive though. The main character was wearing a beautiful knee-length dress at one point, and when she extended her leg and then let it down, the dress fell beautifully. I was thinking, maybe if I wore a dress like that, it would help me figure out how to dance because I'd want to see it gracefully float back down... ;-)

Another thought: I think they should create a ballet of a table tennis tournament, now that'd be worth seeing!

Foxidilly

Last night I was walking home from Table Tennis at about 10:30 pm. As I was approaching a building with a wheelchair access ramp, I heard a rustling sound by the brick wall that outlined the ramp. As I took a peak around the corner of the wall, I realized I was starring eye-to-eye with a real, live fox! Now for those of you who see foxes every day, this may not sound so cool, but for me, it was incredible. Later that night, my roommate told me that there are many foxes around Dublin, which amazed me to hear that fact. I wonder where the poor little guys live and what they can possibly find to eat. I'm reminded of the tale of the Country Mouse and the City Mouse...

Indulging in City Life

I've just come to realize that I'm now living in a city, and not just any city, a large cosmopolitan city (which is getting colder as the winter quickly approaches).

So... I'm settled. I'm comfortable. I have a routine of work, table tennis, and shopping. Randomness only occurs occasionally with a good craic at work, a cool rally in a table tennis game, an interesting sight while shopping, or a day out on the town with a friend. Call me greedy, but I'd like to introduce just a little more randomness into my life.

Recent events have shown me that life is precious, and I'm determined to enjoy what I can of my life as it is at the moment. For now, this is focused on exploring the theatre. I've recently booked a few plays (Menopause the Musical, The Nutcracker, and The Last Days of the Celtic Tiger with Ross O'Carroll Kelly) and a couple comedy shows (Des Bishop, and Keith Barry). I'm very much looking forward to these and will share the events as they come up.

For now, ta-ta! It's time for me to read before bedtime with my luscious cup of Cadburry's hot chocolate with a little bit of Pumpkin Spice mixed in...
